Default Hard mode mission completion counting towards Normal Mode

Ok, was discussing this with guildies earlier after completing the early Ascalon missions on Hard Mode and not having them complete in Normal Mode...

Why is this? Surely if we manage to complete a mission in hard Mode that we haven't done in Normal Mode, we should get the Normal Mode completion aswell

This has been already suggested.

There are some reasons not to make this:
[skill]Backfire[/skill] In Hard mode enemies cast faster.
[skill]Reversal of Damage[/skill][skill]Pain Inverter[/skill] In Hard mode enemies deal more damage.

So some builds can make some areas easier in hard mode. Not many, but some.

Titles have separate tracks.
Hard and Normal modes have rewards. You can't get both rewards for making one thing, being easier or not. They don't pay you for cleaning the windows in the 1st floor if you only clean them from 50th to 100th.
When it comes to plot and unlocked outposts, hard or normal mode doesn't matter.

So that can't be made.

HM isnt a way to PROVE that you can do NM. Its a harder mode.

No, because then you are effectivly getting 2 titles for the price of one by doing guardian

QFT. It's doing the work that gets the titles. Not just proving you are capable.

I am wondering though can you continue.

Like say if you got a char to lvl 20 and you are going throught the game on HM just for the challenge do you get the next quest to continue the story.

Which missions are actually easier in Hard Mode ?

All those skills do is give you extra DPS in some areas, but does it actually make the mission as a whole easier than NM ?

Guardian would have to be reworked, as currently both NM and HM completion are required for Legendary Guardian.

Two words: Eternal Grove. Protector was hard as hell. Guardian was a steamroll.

That's the beginning of it.

With pain inverter getting guardian is easier now than it was much earlier.

XD I've said 'areas' not missions.

But turth is that there is at least one mission:
- Augury Rock.

I ALWAYS end it faster in Hard Mode, with less moving and casting.

Gates of Kryta: 600/smite=better to do in HM
Although, Willa the Unpleasant is a major B**** in NM and HM without a BHA Ranger or a decent mesmer build.

No no no no.

Legendary Guardian = 6/6, not 3/3. You must get protector and Guardian to get the title. And besides, if you can surely do it in HM, what's stopping you from doing it in NM?

Thats exactly it... new warrior from Elona, ran over to help a couple of new guys and when they were done, I decided to do the starter missions on HM (as a bit of a challenge and first time actually properly doing HM too) and did Great Northern Wall to Nolani Academy in one sitting... I then go back to NM and see i have to do them again and just dispared...

I CAN'T TAKE DOING THOSE MISSIONS AGAIN!!!

Well, i would agree. I mean, you just completed harder version of the same.

Doing it again in normal mode mean just that i am repeating myself

/btw: if you think about it, if doing it in hardmode gave you credit for normal mode, you would not receive reward for normal mode, meaning that you actually lost money/xp/sps by not doing it in easy mode first. kinda ballances out feact that you received credit./
